Turkish Airlines is one of the main sponsors of Holmenkollen Skifestival this year, being recognized as one of the most notable ski events in the world, broadcasted worldwide to nearly 200 million people.
Turkish Airlines has emerged as a major player in sponsorship of international sporting events and major athletes. By engaging in ski jumping, we are touching into a sport engaging a large number of people worldwide, especially in countries as Japan, Germany, Poland, Austria, Slovenia, Switzerland, Italy, Finland and of course Norway.
– We are very happy to include Turkish Airlines as part of our skiing family here in Holmenkollen, and proud that one of Europe´s biggest airline companies chooses to embrace Norwegian skiing tradition. Ski jumping is by far the most airy experience you can get, says Mrs. Kristin Vestgren Saeteroy, CEO of Holmenkollen Skifestival.
– We like to compare Holmenkollen to Wimbledon, Wembley and Madison Square Garden. The Holmenkollen Sunday is famous for gathering thousands of eager ski fans and is recognized as Norway´s second National Day, and gathered more than 120.000 spectators last year.
